![]() Hiromichi Tanaka headed the project as both the executive producer and director. The Final Fantasy III remake was first announced in October 2004, but detailed information did not emerge for a year. Square Enix considered porting the game to the PlayStation 2, but was eventually convinced by Nintendo to develop the title for their new handheld system, the Nintendo DS, a decision that would later be positively reinforced by the commercial success of the Nintendo DS. Development įollowing the failure to remake the game for the WonderSwan Color, and Square's merger with former competitor Enix to form Square Enix in 2003, the company posted assurance that the game's promised remake would not be completely forgotten, and there was speculation that it might find its way to Sony's PlayStation or Nintendo's Game Boy Advance as its predecessors had. Ingus ( イングズ, Inguzu) who symbolizes determination, a loyal soldier serving the King of Sasune, with a (mutual) soft spot for the princess Sara. Refia ( レフィア) who symbolizes affection, a girl raised in the village of Kazus who tires of her father's blacksmith training and often runs away from home, and Luneth ( ルーネス, Rūnesu) who symbolizes courage, an adventurous orphan boy raised in the village of Ur Īrc ( アルクゥ, Arukū) who symbolizes kindness, Luneth's childhood best friend and a timid yet intelligent young man At least I couldn't produce some meaningful output with apicula with the PC variant. The original storyline of Final Fantasy III is retained with some of the changes being that the main characters are more fleshed out and are given unique appearances (designed by Akihiko Yoshida), backstories, personalities and names: And yes I'm aware of the game being in the DS section here.Īnd before anyone asks about the PC versions of FF3, FF4 or FF4 The After Years, the files appear to be different from regular NSBMD files, despite sharing the same file extension and the the NSBMD header. Also the PSP version is actually easier to be ripped from, using GMO files directly, rather than putting a header to the NSBMD files as they did with the DS Games for FF3, FF4, and even some of the Dragon Quest games. The Models themselves are exactly the same. ![]() The only difference between both versions is the color palette of the textures being less saturated, than the DS one, because of the limited Color Space of the PSP. Out of curiosity, have you ripped the models from the DS or the PSP version? The included Readme answered my question, that they actually are the DS models and not the PSP models. Just when I was about to start re-ripping the Models myself, I see huge bunch of models being ripped. So using tinke can be skipped in these cases. May be related to the most recent build from source though, which added support for detecting NSBCA files itself). I also tried to use the extract function of Apicula on the rom itself recently, which actually dumped the nitro files directly(albeit with a lot of warnings. While it does it's job, it is annoying having to confirm the prompt for each file. I'm using NSBTextractor from 2009 for the textures. I did write a small batch file myself for apicula, that does the convert for me, but I still have to manually convert the textures themselves, if they are stored outside the nsbmd files. Sadly Noesis still has no native support for nsbmd files, and there are, to my knowledge no public noesis plugins for the Nitro formats either. You can even recursively batch convert supported files( there is a lot of different formats supported out of the box including FBX, SMD, DAE, as well as some game specific formats like the FF7 PSX battle Models) in it. GMO files can be viewed and converted through noesis. GMO Files are the most common format, you can find in PSP games, similarly to nsbmd files in DS games.
